Discover creative ways to encourage others and to motivate them toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love. This is not the time to pull away and neglect meeting together, as some have formed the habit of doing, because we need each other! In fact, we should come together even more frequently, eager to encourage and urge each other onward as we anticipate that day dawning.
HEBREWS 10:24-25
Why Home Churches
2020 and the global pandemic has certainly created opportunities for the church to be creative. As Gateway discovers fresh ways to connect and press ONWARD in 2021, we believe the church should not pull away and neglect meeting. We just need to meet and connect differently. However, it’s not so different than the 1st century church did. (Acts 2) They met together for fellowship, communion, prayer. Gateway’s purpose is to KNOW, GROW, and GO and we think this is an excellent season to step into our purpose. We will open HOME churches across the Willamette Valley and this will be a terrific way to know Jesus and one another better. We will grow purposefully as we meet in smaller settings. We will encourage one another to go passionately as we see and meet the needs of our community.
What Is A Home Church
A HOME Church is any small gathering of people where the aim is to KNOW/GROW/GO together. A HOME Church can either be the group of people that you have already been meeting with or a group that you will gather from among your friends, neighbors, family, etc. It is a place that invites and welcomes newcomers, with eyes to see those who aren’t connected with spiritual community.
Where Are Home Churches Gathering?
WHERE ARE HOME CHURCHES GATHERING Some Home Churches will meet in houses. Some will meet on Zoom. Some will meet in public spaces. The building is not the church, but the people are. This is a timely way to ‘be’ the church.
